Soccer player died after hitting by object from the stands

The soccer player, Albert Ebosse died after getting hit by an object thrown from the stands yesterday.

He was announced dead after being sent to the hospital in Tizi Ouzou, east of the Algerian capital, Algiers.

The striker played of JS Kabylie and had scored in a 2-1 home defeat by USM Alger on Saturday evening.

It was believed that the fans were angry for the losing game and then throwing rocks.

Ebosse was hit when he left the field at the end of the match.

His death was caused by a head injury.

The opponents of Ebosse’s club said this incident came as a bombshell and a horror.

The president of the Confederation of African Football, Issa Hayatou stated, “African football cannot be the somewhere for hooliganism whatsoever. We expect exemplary sanctions to be taken against this serious act of violence.”

Ebosse had played for JS Kabylie since July 2013.
