Cadbury Malaysia received halal certification back after laboratory test results. Finally, Cadbury is confirmed as halal and porcine DNA free in chocolate.
Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) affirmed that all Cadbury Malaysia products were written with Islamic Law and the Malaysian Halal Standard, approving by its certified halal panel.
“The certification is a attestation that Muslims can consume Cadbury products safely,”said by Mondelez Malaysia managing director Sunil Sethi, the parent comapny of Cadbury Malaysia.
He also stated that the samples were tested for several times by Jakim and it’s affirmed that all products are
halal. They are confident of the regulations that are applied.
The argument between halal or non-halal has risen since Health Ministry detected porcine DNA in particular batches of Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Cadbury Dairy Milk Roast Almond chocolates on May 24.
Jakim had confirmed that the two products above were halal on June 2.
Sethi organized an internal halal committee to ensure Cadbury productions, quality and regulatory departments.
Jakim will also conduct periodical tests at Cadbury Malaysia.
“There are 70 to 80 percent of Muslim staff at Cadbury plant, that’s why halah is our high priority”, stated by Sethi.
Whether Cadbury is Halal, are you willing to buy as consumer??
